Roller Forming Riveting Machine
Roll Forming process is like Riveting a Cold Forming process of fastening for retaining the material in an assembly. It is a non-impact process using the standard Riveting Machine with the riveting tool holder replaced by the rotating Roll Forming Head with 2 or more rollers to apply a symmetrical downwards force to form the part.
Available are two different types of Roll Forming Head -
- Static Roll Forming head
- Articulated Roll Forming head
Roll Forming Machines with Pneumatic or Hydraulic models which can deliver up to 5T forming force are available.
Static Roll Forming Head :
- Is used for forming smooth curved surface the the end of a thin walled Tubular or Cylindrical part to retain the material inside the assembly.
- It uses spinning rollers and a downward force to create a smooth curved formed surface around that cylindrical part.
Articulating Roll Forming Head:
- Is used for forming a groove inwards against the OD or an outward groove against the ID
- It makes a 360 deg contact from the side to create a consistent formed surface.
Newly introduced, Servo Roll Forming Machine. With Servo process, the downward movement is very precisely controlled which otherwise requires a manual adjustment of a mechanical stop.
